Ask me anything

One address, read by one person. Questions are answered free whether or not you ever buy anything, in English or Spanish — escríbeme en español si prefieres.

No contact form, no chat widget, no newsletter signup, no autoresponder sequence. Your address is used to reply to you and nothing else.

Each opens your email app with the subject filled in. Delete whatever doesn't apply.

What to expect

  • A real reply from a person, usually within a couple of days. This is a one-person operation in Los Cabos, so it is not instant, and there is nobody to escalate to.
  • Answers that cite something, or say plainly that I don't know. If your question turns on a municipality I haven't verified, that is the answer you'll get, along with what to ask the office and how to word it in Spanish.
  • No sales sequence. Asking a question does not put you on a list. There is no list.
  • “Don't buy it” is a normal answer here. A refund costs us both more than an honest reply does.

What I can't do

I am not a lawyer, not a notario, and not a Registro Civil official — see About for the full extent of the credential. I can tell you what a state's own page says, what it means in practice, and which question to put to your municipal office. I cannot give legal advice, file anything on your behalf, or overrule the office that will actually marry you.

Before you write, this may already answer it

The Mexico marriage requirements reference is free and covers civil versus symbolic, the four main states, apostille and translation lead times, the 15-day blood-test trap, and full document checklists — each with its source and check date. If your question is in there, you'll have the answer faster than I can send it.
